How many...?

I was thinking of possible cichlids to stock my 55 gallon tank with once I move and get a new 75 gallon tank for my oscar. (Not sure if I'll ever get a 75 gallon tank...but these are just ideas.)

Each of the following cichlid species would probably be kept alone...and it would be their permanent home, if possible. Soooo...in a 55 gallon tank...how many of the following could I have?

-Jack Dempseys
-Firemouths
-Green Terrors

If you have any other stocking suggestions, let me know. (Preferably SA/CA)

Personaly I've always been a big fan of severums. They remind me of discus, but with more of the cichlid attitude. lol Never kept them, may get around to it one of these days.

I would say a pair of JD's, mabey 4-6 of the Firemouths, and not real sure of the GT's. Just my best guess and playing it on the safe side.

Sweet, thanks. Would the JDs have to be a male and female pair or could I keep 2 males or 2 females together? What about the Firemouths?

Possibly 2 females but i'm not sure i'd try 2 males. A pair would be best.

With SA/CA's pairs work the best usually.

I'd say you could stock the GT's like you would the JD's.
