how many?

How many bottom feeders can I have sensibly on a 20 gal tank. that is if I didn't have some of the other fish. I would like to get more loaches but I don't know how many would be good.

Is it a 20 long or tall?

long kinda wish it was taller but hey I'll take what I can at the moment lol

Actually long is better since it gives the fish more room and has much more bottom area. What kind of loaches are they? I don't know what stick cats are, but I think 4 cats and 3 loaches will fill the bottom out. If they're kuhli loaches, the bottom have room for a few more (but not really, since you've got so much in the top), but other loaches are bigger so it's probably maxed out otherwise.

I got dojo loaches( weather loaches ). and stick cats are odd. they are about 12 inches long at adult size but at that size they not even as big around as a pencil. kinda neat to me. they spend the day stuck to the side of the tank sticking straight up in the water just sucking on the glass. durring the night they slowly but methodicly go over the bottom eating.

With dojo loaches, the bottom is more than full. Are you planning to move them to the big tank once it's cycled?

well once I get a big tank. next week I'm planning on getting a 150 gal.
