How much substrate for my 10 gallon?

i want to plant my ten gallon (approx. 20x12x10) and i wanted
to know how many pounds of it i should buy.
im planning on planting micro sword and hairgrass,
any suggestions?

and also, how much gravel should i put in? i heard it should
be at lease 2" deep?

That sounds like a lot for a 10 gallon. I put only about 5 pounds of play sand in my 10 gallon. It's enough to cover the roots of my plants and stuff but it's only been fully planted for a few days so its hard to tell if it's good enough.

in my 20 gal (non planted)i recently have taken out half the gravel i put in (2 5lbs bags if i remember correctly.
less media for me has resulted in less work.Like i said my 20gal is not planted yet LOL
