How to breed africans?????

I need some pointers on how to breed africans. They are mouthbrooders.They are a pair of yellow labs,2 kenyi pair, 2 red zebra pair, and a pair of cobalt blues.What temp, what technique, what lighting pattern, Any EXPERIENCES EXPECIALLY, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
They are all breeding size.

Yes, but not much.
1. Pairs of africans don't work well. You want one to male to at least 3 females. As soon as the male has bred he wants to breed again with another female. If you only have 2 she'll be the target, and as she will refuse she will take a pounding. Depending on the aggressiveness of the species she definitely won't do well, or could be killed there and then , and will certainly never hold the eggs till they hatch unless you get her another tank
2. Sexing by spots on the tail is hopeless for many species.
Apart from that they're pretty easy. Just keep condiitons as good as possible. Big tank, hard warm water at 27 or 28, lots of cover for the females

you'd be surprised JWright, not that mixing cichlids from all over the world in the same tank appeals much to me either.

I've bred shelldwellers before, the thing with most cichlids is that they're prolific breeders. And African Mbuna especially are quite at home breeding amongst many other fish.

Wayne's right though, if you've got a pair, you should get a couple more females (no joke intended hehe)
