I cannot explain but for some reason i moved my upside down cat from 29g into 10g where he lived with injured dwarf puffer. I never took a good look at him in neither tank for 6 months total.
Yesterday i decided that the puffer is strong enough and reunited him with his "friends" and also moved upside down back into 29g.
He was visibly very pleased: he swam and explored every inch, lounged on smooth driftwood etc. I thought it will pass and he will go into hiding as usual.
Today in the morning i noticed that he is still swimming. Ther reason: for some reason he liked pictus cat whom he did not know before and now follows him around and around the tank . He and the pictus are now most visible fish in the tank. Looks like he cannot live w/o the pictus by his side.
Interesting, huh?

That is so cute. :D

I bought a new upside down and a clown loach at the same time so they spend a few weeks in QT together. When I put them in the big tank, the tiny little USD followed the loaches everywhere. Now he hangs out under a log with his fellow USD's but i get them to come out by turning off the tank light and turning on a lamp with a blue bulb beside the tank and they become very active and I can still see them all. :D

I would be happy to show pics but first of all they stopped doing this. The pictus cat is so crazy that nobody wants to be friends with him for any appreciable length of time. cories were also fascinated by him for a while until they realized his voratious nature and wild life style. This happened to upside down too. He is phylosopher and rotates his hangouts once a week. Also I would not be able to take any pics b/c it was such a race - i cannot imagine it was possible to catch them still. :)

Yeah, I gotta agree with you. For a short time I had two pictus cats, and they about drove me insane. I love most fish, but these guys are just tooo...much....!
They NEVER stop! I mean, NEVER! They made the soothing activity of watching your beloved fish tank into a stressful activity with all the visual movement. They just get a thumbs down with me. I made the mistake of introducing some fresh chopped squid to the tank (for some variety of food) and I think there must have been a bad bacteria in them cos the pictus ended up swelling up and dying. Can't say I miss them all that much.... ;)
