I nearly killed my powder blue dwarf gourami this week. I noticed that he had a sore on his body so I moved him to my QT tank this past Saturday (the tank was currently being used for a betta).
He acted normal but by Sunday night he was lying on his side at the bottom of the tank. He appeared to be dead but you could still see his mouth move when he breathed. By Tuesday morning I had decided that I would put him in the freezer to put him out of his misery. I told my wife what I was going to do Tuesday evening. About half an hour later he was swimming…well, floating around the tank in a vertical position, actually.
By Wednesday (yesterday) he was swimming around like normal and would even come up to the glass when he would see me like he always does when I feed the fish. I'm hoping the meds I'm using do the trick and he fully recovers. The progress I've seen is very promising.
