I am so sick of petsmart fish...

Got my oscar last night and now he seems to be sick....He is almost laying in the bottom of the tank i check all the levels they are fine and yet when i turn on the fishtank light he goes so pale....The pleco is fine in the tank...im going to take this one back and get my money and go randys fish palace

The water param are teh most overlooked things when dealing with fish, and oscars especially, are sensitive to water changes. Mine looked the same way for a couple weeks before he finally got comfortable.

There's a LFS just down the street with some amazing tiger oskers they need to get rid of (outgrowing their tanks). I don't think they ship though.

oscars tend to lay down a lot... and since you are putting him in a 15 gallon, you cant expect him to be too happy... as long as he is not breathing heavy or has outward signs of illness then no problem.... he probably wont act normal or eat at first though...

How did he act at the store? Did you observe him before you bought him? I am guessing that there was no quarantine right?
