I asked before about my yellow labs turning black...it has now gone from just under the chin, to it's whole underside...It doesn't look right to me.
You can click on these for full view, then click them again for really big view to get a close look at it.

Thats what I was thinking too having looked at the pics I too remember wondering the same thing looking at MY lab butttttt waiting and watching it the "darker" spot in full light seems more irridescent like the inside of an abolone shell, and in darker light does seem to take on a "darker" hue. If anyone else has a different theory I would be interested in any comments as well....

The three labs I put in a cichlid tank about a year ago, do the same thing. Nothing to be worried about. I have also seen them at many different displays doing the same thing. There colors will come and go based on the dominance in the tank.

Beautiful looking fish you have there.

That's natural for tank bred labs. You won't really see it if you wanted to drop the money for wild caught labs, but with the standard tank bred variety that is available to us you see it quite often. This comes from generation after generation of inbreeding and from breeders not making sure that their breeding stock are 'perfect' before allowing them to breed.

So in other words, I got crappy fish for $9.00 each?

Sorry AVenom, I didn't mean to imply that you had crappy fish... That's just what is available to the average hobbyist. Mine are just like yours... Sorry again it if came across wrong.
