So I just broke rule #1. But the LPS's left me no choice!

Walmart got in german blue rams on friday. I've had special orders in @ both LPS's since last summer for them.

They looked healthy, had the tank to themselves, so I figured why not. The screwup at the checkout made them even more desireable :) (they goofed and charged me for a single yellow lab, instead of 4 rams (they called them something way different))

Now If they could only get my 55g and stand... Think they could get me 4 of those for the price of one? :)

Whoops, goofed, bolivian rams, not german blues. I'm still happy, they're eating like pigs already and have colored up over night.

Hey I think what you have are Bolivian Rams, not German Blues. You can tell because of the pink or tangerine strips of colors along the top and bottom of the tail fin. Additionally, those rams have a more prnounce "parrot face" as some Cichlids do. Their bodies are larger and are marked with fuzzy vertical bars.

German Blue Rams:

Bolivian Rams:

But don't disairage! Though they are less colorful, they do have better health, and are sometimes thought to take better care of their eggs than the German rams.

I buy my tanks and filter supplies at walmart. Rule #1 is never EVER buy fish at walmart. This was a special case due to frustration, and only because they must have overhauled all their tanks this week (they were totally clean, new gravel, new stock). This was actually the first time I've walked by those tanks without seeing hundreds of diseased dead and dieing fish.

The rams are doing great thus far, big territorial dispute, the smallest one got the 'prime' spot (the nasty skull) while the other 3 were fighting over the pot.

I was supposed to pay 40ish $ canadian for those rams :) Check-out screwups sometimes work in your favor.
