Female Guppy. Acting VERY Lathargic. Gills and Mouth breathing very fast. And I posted pictures of her Tail. The 3 white spots in the middle of the tail are HOLES. On the Right side of the photo, it looks like a piece was removed.

I tried some of the sites in the Sticky Thread, but the only one that described my problem said the tank has an ammonia Problem. That's impossible. The other fish are Fine, I just did a 40% water change 2 days ago, and my test kit is showing no ammo.

I first thought it was Fin Rot...but that says there has to be White stuff on the edges of the Rot. There isn't.

Then maybe someone is nipping at her tail. Nope. None of these guys are nipping at anything.

Can anyone help here? Or should I fire up the Clove Oil and Vodka:(

It is tail rot. There isn't always white with it.

Any of the common meds for tail/fin rot should work on it, although if it's just the one fish, you might want to treat in a separate tank.

I'd guess that she's stressed because she's the only female with a male. It's better to keep two or three female guppies to every male to reduce him pestering any one female too much.

It's not always contagious. There are always bacteria present in the water, but stress can allow a disease to actually take hold.

If everyone else is doing well in the tank, it's better not to treat them. Plecos, cories and otos tend to be more sensitive to meds, so treat only if you have to. Keep a close eye on everyone else's fins for a while, though.
