I dont know what to do

To start off i have had my oscar for more than a year and he was doin fine, but last night for some reason when i went to bed and turned the lights off he started going crazy and running into the wall and the filters? Hes got some really bad cuts. ... All of my water par. are the same as they have always been. What should i do?

Some times fish freak out when the light goes off/on. Its very abrupt, and unnatural. Might want to treat the injuries though.

Yea i know that , but he did it all night long? What would i use treat the cuts, stress coat or something?

Some melafix and extra water changes as well as upping the temp a bit will help him heal. The goal is to keep the cuts from getting infected with clean water. Generally, it's best to never just flip a light on in front of a fish tank, it scares the fish and either puts them in shock or makes them go berserk.

Thank you for missfishy. I am however confused when you say flip a light on in front of the tank. I would never do that, i am talking about the tank lights. Do you think that im taking a flashlight or something and shining at the tank? All im doing is turning the light off and he goes crazy? I have done extra water changes, upped the temp to about 84. does that sound about right for the temp?
