I got babies!!!

Well tonight i just glanced over to my multie tank, and noticed wot looked to me at the time to be a tiny tadpole like creature, upon further inspection i realized it was a tiny multies fry!!

As i watched it two more tiny little fish emerged from the mothers shell.

This is my first spawn with any kind of fish so im very excited :)

I crushed up some flake and sprikled a little in the tank, and each of the fry had a bit.

I am a bit worried though because my male is being extremly aggressive to the other female in the tank, the one that didnt give birth. Hopefully he will calm down.

I will try and get pics up tomorrow. :D

All three fry a still alive and well, although one of them is not as active as the other two. Today i saw the male pick up the snail i have in there and move him over to the other side of the tank, he must of recognised him as a danger to the fry or something.

Excellent news Barb, congrats! Ditch the snail, it'll eat the eggs if it gets anywhere near the shells, fry should be able to move quick enough. The male will not do that female any harm I am sure, he's just keen to get that colony moving! ;-)

Well one babie died, but i've still got two that are going strong.

I think my male is now preparing to mate with the other female, so hopefully more babies on the way! :D

man im gonna need a bigger tank.....

More fry.....

The same two multies have had a second batch of fry! This time theres 7 or 8. I just wish the male would pay the other female some attention, i feel sorry for her.

Plans to get a bigger tank soon, atleast 20g maybe a little bigger. I am getting the bigger tank so that i can grow the fry to a decent size and the sell them to the lfs round here, i might keep a few, but i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.

How often are these guys gonna be spawning? every 2 weeks or so?

EDIT: hav'nt been on shelldwellers.com yet, but i will now :D
