I HATE SUMMER!!!!!!

I'm so upset this is not even funny.

In San Diego it was hot enough today tomake the temperature in my 10 gallon spike passed reading on the side thermo reader, even with the lid light off. I wasn't home all day and when I came home I found not only 2 of my Neon Tetras gone but also my sweet little Rosey. By the looks of it she'd been gone for a long time.

I'm going to put freakin' ice packs on the outside of my tank tomorrow if I have to this is not a good time for me as my father just passed away on thursday night, so I don't need to be loosing my fish as well!!!!!

Sorry for your losses. I know the heat is pretty bad here in California. Up in NorCal, there was a blackout near where I live. I was in Vietnam at the time, but my lfs lost all their arowanas due to a black out.

Sorry bout that. My tank is now just cooling down. Im in sac and it got hot enough to make my fish want to jump in the north atlantic!

I need help!!!! What do I do to cool the tank down??? I don't want to loose any more fishies!!!!

My brother's tank would always jump in temperature during summer. He turned off his heater and would use a plastic water bottle(the kind you buy at sporting events or places) And freeze them. Then when it's completely frozen, he made sure the cap was on tight and then he put it in his tank. It worked perfect. Just make sure you keep checking the temperature. His tank was at about 90 and a couple hours later it was back at 78. Hope this helps you.

i usually put ice cubes in my tank cools it right down, iam probaly doing more harm than good though

take a bottle of water and freeze it and then put it in your tank. It wont release any chlorine if your worried and you can have another in the freezer ready to swap. Dont be afraid to use alot of ice... it will melt fast.
