about three days ago, I notice that my black molly, Onyx, was having some fin issues. I don't think it is fin rot, from the pictures of other fish, but I am new to the fish world. The best way I can think to discribe it, is if you find a dried up leaf, and all the "leaf part" is gone and just the veins remain. This is what the tips of dorsal fin and tail fin look like. He also has random scales on his body that look cloudy. they are here and there, not grouped together. He was eating/acting fine.

Molly three days ago

This morning when I woke up, the tips of his side fins(forgive me I don't know all the terms yet, but I am learning) had a whiteish look to them (not like ich)almost fuzzy for lack of a better term. When I came home this afternoon, one of his eyes was clouded over. I have tried to get another better pic but he won't let me. He has started hiding, and will no longer eat out of my hand. That was his favorite thing to do. He eats a little but not much, and he is constantly on the bottom which he never does, unless he does it while I am asleep. His swiming is a bit labored as well

Three days ago I had my water tested at LFS, everything was good except my nitrates where a little high. I have been doing water changes daily since then. Before that I did 25% every third day. My temp is at a constant 79-80. I add 1 Tablespoon salt per 10 gallons. I have all live plants. Diet consists of Live black worms, live brine shrimp, dried green marine algae, and tetra min tropical flakes. his tank mates are mollies, swords and platties..oh and a pleco. If you need more let me know

Can't tell from the pics if it's bacterial or fungal - but.........

When a fish is weakened by a bacterial infection, a secondary fungal infection is not uncommon. Some anti-bacterial medications allow for this by treating both together. So, lots of looking at packaging to find one that does both - but be carefull to find one that doesn't harm your filter bacteria. Never heard of Mardel Maroxy, so I can't comment on that.

Fins regenerate quickly - less than a week sometimes - so don't panic

Try to find a bacterial/fungal medicine like purple suggested. Looks like your fish has cloud eye. There is also a disease called black mollie disease, it's hard to find a medication for this, but there are some. You could also try putting a small container of aquarium salt in there with a small layer of gravel on top (to keep it from dissolving too quickly). That way he can give himself a salt bath.
