I had a similar issue in my 110 when I had my Royal. I was running 2 405's and I still had a poop substrate! I added a power head on each side and it made a huge difference. I agree with Lotus. If you can keep it from settling on the bottom you should be in good shape with what you have.

For a tank that large with a lot of plecos, your filtration does need a little over haul. A couple of power heads will help keep the poo suspended longer thus allowing your filters to grab it.

I would start to replace the fluvals with 405s (more GPH) and add another HOB. HOBs are hard to beat for their mechanical filtering abilities, and as much as yours are going to be picking up yo want something easy to clean.

Just to give you an idea, my 90 has the large royal, a clown plec, a small whip tail, and 3 large severums. Filtration on this tank is 2 fluval 404s with added mechanical filtration DIY in the media basket, plus 2 emperor 400s

Or instead of buying 3 more filters which will end up costing a bit just go with the FX5...I have that running on my 125g and it is awsome, it is good for up to 400g's. Also it will save you in filter media. You may still want to get the power heads since you do have a 250g but I have no poop problems in my tank and I have 2 foot long plecos in there and believe me they can poop.
