I Need a Lawnmower!

My piece of decorative dead coral has grown its own lawn in one area of it of long green mossy grass with short brown algae patches through out the green. Is this bad algae? Why won't any of my snails clean it up?

what kind of snails do you have? what size tank do you have? can you give us some more information--the more we know, the better the chances of solutions

sounds like hair algae; a lawnmower blenny would probably help take care of it as will crabs. snails don't usually go for hair algae

29 gal sw; 1 damsel; 2 clowns; 2hermit crabs; 1 peppermint shrimp; 1 snail that is a cone shaped(doesn't really do much); 1 fat a** round snail(his name is HOOVER); and 1 grasshopper looking thing that does a great cammo job on my rocks; and finally, 3 anemones

a larger cleanup crew will help, but finding the source of the algae should be your first step...have you checked your phosphates and nitrates levels?
