I just found what I think is a 150 gallon tank/stand...etc. Some women is selling it for $100.00
I guess it's an OAK stand...

She says these are the measurements 5 feet long x 54 " high (with stand) and 2 feet deep.
How many gallons do you think this is?

Should I run to this DEAL???

I'd guess its smaller than 335 since they said 54 inches high WITH the stand. Measurements of the actual tank would get you a better gallonage estimate.

BUT no matter what, a large tank that holds water with a stand that fits it is worth well over $100 no matter which way you slice it! You'll still have to put a fair amount of $$ into it when you decide on equipment, whether it comes with lights and/or a hood/cover, substrate, decorations etc

I agree with Igor...also you might want to look at some of the cichlid setups in the rate my tank section to get ideas for decor etc. There are some awesome choices of fish that you have for such a large tank :)

Although I don't do cichilds personally, a good friend of mine keeps africans in a 110g tank - with MUCH success. He trades at least a dozen surviving babies to the LFS per month. His tank is comprised of sand substate (used to have medium-sized stone bottom before redoing it), and a lot of flat rocks built up to make plenty of caves.

For equipment he has a Magnum 350 canister, the large aquaclear HOB, a powerhead in each rear-corner for circulation, and undergravel jets to keep things from settling out too much.
