Someday I want to setup a big tank (125+) and only stock it with 3-4 smaller Africans (not 3-4 species, I mean 3-4 _fish_) and let them fill the tank up on their own.

I think it would be an interesting view into the real habits of some of the fish we keep...

that a good idea JW but keep in mind in the wild a pair of Mbuna usually cordon off a spot about 2 or 3 square metres (they are called Gardenkeepers or something.. they keep a square of algae growing on a rock just for themselves. it's in Ad Konings book). if you want to really have fun get a massive tank (200+ gallons) and throw in a harem of Copadichromis, one male and 5 females,,,,,, and just add a big rock at one end and a whole lot of sand.
from what I recall diving in Lake Malawi this same situation above (1 male and a bunch of females) happened every 100 square metres or so.

Somonas: you mention Copadichromis, do you know anything about a Copachromis Sp. Virginalis Gold? I read an article that they are peaceful but often confused with Copadichromis Kajose:rolleyes:
