i think im retarded. RO unit questions.

my RO unid didnt come with any directions except for you have to put the blue thing in the circular thing. (the directions were more specific) so i did that... and then it said you have to discard the first 10 gallons, and you cant let the blue thing dry out. didnt say which tube was "discard" water, and which was "keep" water. also, when i started it up, water shot out from all the places where the tubes connect to the unit. (mom wasnt happy) i tightened the places where the tubes connect, and tried again...
water openly flowed from one of the tubes, and also soon i saw water coming out from under the sink. so i turned it off and cleaned up that mess. the plumbing is fine now, i think it was just from the pressure.... anyways... help me... i cant work my RO unit.

yep, yellow hooks to the faucet, and there is a red and a blue one. this is the unit i got...

i have the $99 one. it doesnt look exactly like that though. has a differnt sticker, and the blue and red one come out at different angles. doubt that makes a difference though.

also, yes, i know it isnt the best out there. i dont want my water to be perfect, i just want it better than before.

just got bored with explaining stuff on MFT. still been checking in daily, and posting in the lounge, but not much in the FW area. i figured that the blue was safe, and the red was bad... but i didnt want to assume anything.

also... how do i make the RO unit work?

i did... and then water shot out from under the sink... then yelling... then 3 clean towels.... then my dad came home then WTF HAPPENED HERE? then explaining. so something went wrong somewhere. after i tightened all the places where the hoses connect, a little water still came out. and also water was flowing freely from one of the tubes. im pretty sure it isnt supposed to do that. if it is... WOW... that wastes a lot of water.

Ya what is going on it the Water is being Pushed By a Super fine Membrane pure water goes though the membrane. The impurities are flushed out. If you do not run water over the membrane it will clog with in an hour due to all the stuff that it is gettin out of the water. It should tell you what its RO to Waste water ratio is.

ummm... yea... this thing would be wasting like a hundred or more gallons a day as fast as the water was flowing. im pretty sure that wasnt actual waste water.
