After doing some research on the web it looks like one of my Guppies has dropsy.

His body is very swollan (we thought he was just fat) But now he just hangs out at the bottom of the tank, and it looks like he's having trouble swimming.

We tested the water and everything is as it should be.

Everything I have read says that I should remove the fish, is this the case? Is this guppy dying? What should be my next step?

I agree...pics would be good. Sometimes when my females are about to give birth they almost appear to have dropsy, even some scales out of place from time to time.

he may have bloat...I had to freeze one of my platies lastnight cause he had dropsy really bad and I couldn't let him suffer...your guppy doesn't look like he has dropsy, he would still be swimming around, I'd put him in a seperate tank and treat him with something, and treat the whole tank....find a med that is multipurpose like maricide.....good luck hope he gets better

alright alright...lol I take it back, now I've seen a fat male guppy haha

He looks fine to me...perhaps a little overweight. How much do you feed them?? I would cut back on feeding and if everyone else in the tank looks fine then maybe you can seperate him and feed him less.

Have his fins always been kinda tattered like that? It almost looks like he has finrot in that first picture, but it might just be the way his fins look...pretty coloring too btw :)

If he doesn't start getting better within a day or so I might try to seperate him and treat him (like animal lover said)...if that is a possibility.

He does have some fin rot, I didnt do enough research about cycling your tank befoe I bought the lil guys. I put them through hell with that cycle.

I dont feed them too much, usually 3 flakes for 4 of them. Sometimes some bloodworms too. All his friends are pretty skinny. But he was a pig, he would clearly be the more agressive then the others when it came to eating.

If I have to take him out of the tank can I put him in a bucket while I do the treatment? I've read about using salt mixtures as treatment for bloat.

don't kill it just because its fat. geez. lol

You can put him in a bucket...just make sure to do frequent water changes and if you can put an airstone in it that would be best. I wouldn't want to put it in a bucket w/o at least that. Luckily its summer so the temperature shouldn't change too much.
