Well, I have learned a most valuable lesson when it comes to bringing in new fish to my tanks! Yeppers, I have indeed! All my fish were doing wonderfully and I decided to get two female dwarf rainbows friends for my male rainbows. Things were going along wonderfully and then on Saturday I looked in and found loads of white dots on the two new fish! I freaked as this is my first encounter with Ich. So I searched the web, found the solutions, ran to Wal Mart and started treating the tank right away. I then started looking at the guppies in my l0 gallon tank and they had it too! Yes, I had some of them in my bigger tank and changed them over....so it hit both tanks! I decided to try the salt method in the l0 gallon and the medication in the 29 gallon to see how things would go. Well, the 29 gallon is doing wonderfully, no fish loss there. The l0 gallon with the salt has at least one guppy a day dieing! I am down to 2 guppies now! So, I put those fish in the bigger tank and I am going to really up the temperature and get the l0 gallon well. I will from now on keep it running with a few fish in it and use it as a guarantine tank. So, new fish people...do not make the mistake I did...guarantine your new fishes!! It will save you alot of work and heartache!! *crazysmil
