Ich in frozen foods?

Does anyone know if it's possible for ich to survive in frozen foods? As I was feeding my community tank some frozen bloodworms today (which I do infrequently, as they are really for my dwarf puffs) I realized that the only different thing introduced into my tank around the time the first ghost cat started looking bad was the frozen bloodworms. I got them from a different store this time and they were a different brand (if that matters).

Now one of my dwarf puffs is showing signs of some kind of illness too. Anyone know if ich (or other diseases) can survive freezing?

I don't think that's possible. I'm pretty sure that the ich parasite is always present in the tank, and the fish only become infected when their immune system is low due to stresses. I'd look for other reasons why your fish are sick.

Maybe it had to do with the way you fed them? I don't know if thats possible, but its a thought.

I don't think it was the bloodworms. Most frozen bloodworms are treated before being frozen to eliminate microorganisms.

Ich is almost always present in the water, and stressed fish will quickly show symptoms. Glass catfish are one of the ich-magnet fish, and get it very easily.
