In short,
I just noticed that 1 of my fish has ich. She seems a little "droopy", but not too bad. There are only about 7 spots on her but I am paranoid of ich... all my first goldfish died of it. So I'm going to raise the temperature to about 28 C and add salt. Pray that my fishies live!

i don't know how the ich started. I've been doing water changes and everything normal...
It was bound to happen. The tank has been up for almost a year. I've been nervous about this lately. I had a dream where my fish all died :(

I also have some old meds, called "super ick cure" they are pretty old, about 4 yrs.

Thanks... and sorry if I'm a little frantic!

28c + salt should do the trick. I've had success with aquarisol before. It is a very mild copper sulfate solution, usually 1 drop per gallon per day until 3 days after no signs of ich on the fish. If the salt and heat don't work I suggest finding some of that.

well, I am thrilled to say she only has 3-5 spots left from the 15+ she had yesterday! I'll be keeping her isolated for about 5 more days just in case :) no other fish have been showing signs of ich, so I am very pleased! I will keep the temp. high for 5 days though (an ouce of prevention is worth a pound of cure ;))

I am really relieved that she is cured- she is really hardy and strong though, so I should've known. But it's funny that it was quick- I was expecting a long slowww recovery ended by a painful death (I know, aren't I positive?).
But I'm glad she's alive! She probably my fav fish (shh! don't tell the others!)
