Ich Question

My Guppy was in a tank where all of my Hatchets and all of my Rummynoses died of ich. It has been about a week and he still is not showing any signs of ich. How much longer should I keep him qt??

I just read somewhere that you should QT for 3-5 days. Is that right??

I assume you are going to put him back with your discus? If you are that worried about it, it's probably better to leave the guppy in QT for 2 weeks and be on the safe side. That's what I would do anyway.

Yea, leave him on for at least 1 week. Turn the temp up too to kill any ich parasites.

my fish are suffering from ich also... its been day three and i 've been using quick cure... 2 of the fishes swim around when i get close to the tank and the other one is just sittin on the floor... it isnt dead yet but im worried i was told to use either aquarium salt or household salt. and raise the tempture to 80 can someone clarify that this will help them ? btw its a 10 gallon tank and the fish are parrot fish *fresh water* thank you

Do either meds or heat and salt, not both together. It can take a good 10 days for the last signs of ich to disappear, and you need to be patient.

I had ich problem as well I was told to keep the temperature for guppies at least in the 80's to prevent anymore break out. The aquarium salt works a bunch my guppies are alive and well. I was told at least a month. I guess it also depends on how badly your fish had ich. I hope this helps.
