Ich Success Story

So yesterday I noticed that one of my clown loaches had ich. And over the course of my fish keeping days I have battled Ich successfully (mostly with loaches) about 4-5 times with a combination of Temp increase and ich medicine that turns my water blue. But yesturday I did not have any medicine nor means to get to a LFS until monday. So I cranked the Temp up to 90º at around 7:30 am and this morning and 10 am ICH IS GONE!!! I am very happy, and so are my loaches.

Good to hear!
When I first got my Gold Severum, he had an extremely bad case of Ich. And now look, 6 months later, 4" bigger, hes lookin great!
Temp and salt are the key IMO. Maybe not the salt for the loaches though

Yeah, I think the medicine should be used as a last resort or in case of a really bad scenario. In most cases, slowly increasing the temperature and using measured amounts of salt will do it.

Make sure to keep the temp up as the ich needs to go through its life cycle in order to be completely gone from your tank.

Congrats! i've been doing that over the years with my loach tank without any medications...it worked fast..2 days and they are gone.But i push mine up to 35 celcius. and its mostly clowns and yoyos...they seem to cope with it real well.

Not too sure about other fish though.
