I need another fish ID'd. I have seen it before but I just can't remember the name...

I got three of these fish when someone gave me a free 10gallon tank.

I don't want to put them in any tanks I have now as 1) they may eat my shrimp and 2) they came from a tank with a LOT of snails. Will they survive overnight in a cup with no current until I can bring them to someone in the morning who will take them?

The 10 gallon she gave me is brand new and not the one they came from. :p She didn't want to give me the other tank because she didn't want to give me snails, or something.

Long-finned zebra danio. Won't eat your shrimp so I'd put them in with them until the morning, they will not do well overnight in that cup. I doubt you'll get any snails in with them.. just net the fish and you should be fine.
That's what I thought the fish was, but I wasn't very sure... :p

I'm not so concerned about getting snails as I am about my RCS being eaten. These danios are at least 2 inches long, and everything I read on the internet says that they will eat shrimp. Most of the shrimp I have in the tank they would go in are 1/4 - 3/4 inch. I don't want to keep them in the container, but I don't know what else to do. I have a few kordon breather bags from a few months ago. Would those work?

They survived the night in the cup. I would have put them in the breather bags, but I misplaced them somewhere. They went to good homes today. 2 went to a 30gal and the pregnant one to a 55gallon.

Now, what the heck am I going to do with this aquarium? I need a hood, which is like $40 alone... and a stand... Geez... After I buy the hood, stand and lights I would have spent almost as much money on it as a 55gallon with hood and stand costs on craigslist. >.<

No, those danios could definitely eat your shrimp. I have a longfin leopard that ate half a dozen cherry shrimp I put into my tank. Obviously he couldn't eat them whole, so he'd carry them around in his mouth until a piece would break off that he could swallow.
