I'm ok with my live-bearer community tank (pic on bottom), but not at all liking the set-up of the gourami tank. Input and ideas welcome. I know I need more height in the gourami tank, but I havn't had the right lighting, and my taller plants have died (which used to give the height). I also added the castle because it gives an extra hide for some of the fish. I have "new" pleco fry in the tank, so I don't really want to do too much to it before I know exactly how many fry I have and that I will not accidentally kill them by dropping decor on them.
As for what I have in the tank:
Plants: 2 anubis (one on wood); 1 small sword
decor: 1 large lava rock with a hole (on L in pic)
Sand castle hide (L)
1 truck
3 smaller lava rocks (behind the wood with the anubis & the truck)
1 wood with anubis (center)
1 small shark "cave"
1 asian head "cave" (R)
1 piece of slate leaning against the head (R)
How can I rearrange all that to make it more visually appealing? Once the taller plants in my community tank grow out some more, I will move trimmings into the gourami tank. I also have a new light bulb (power compact 6700k) coming in this week, so that should help the plants in the gourami tank.
The community tank is ok, tho I liked the old set-up a bit better in terms of where the plants were (the sword was more to the L, and there was a better cluster of plants on the R). Oh, any ideas on how to keep the dragon bubbler upright? I tried burrying it in the gravel, as well as weighing it down with rocks, but it keeps flipping over. (the dragon is all the way to the left near the taller plants)
Thanks!!
