Ok I have finished treating my finrot on the two guppies that had it, their fins show no sings of getting worse, they are starting to look better. But i found another problem yesterday with my femal guppy that gave birth last month. She was bloated looking like she was gonna give birth again, but she has no gravid spot it is still orange/yellow in color. But she is super fat. Then i noticed she has red streakes on the top of her body, i put her in the QT tank, added the jungle tab for internal/external bacteria/parasites. But this morning she is alive but resting on bottom upside down, so no doubt she will pass any moment but i am wondering what this disease is so i can counter act it and prevent it from spreading. Before she got fat i noticed she pooed but it was cloudy string so it was internal parasite but don't know what type of meds to treat with to prevent outbreak. any info is appreciated.

I know you can buy medicated food for parasites, that may help her. Usually if they are so far gone to be laying upside down unable to swim then its not lookin too good for them. :( sorry.

I think the best thing you can do to avoid outbreaks of pretty much anything is going to be easier now that your tank is cycled. Water quality plays a HUGE role in the health of your fish because they are easily stressed by things like the presence of ammonia/nitrites or high nitrates, abrupt changes in temperature or water chemistry (hardness/pH) or even physical factors like adding new fish to the tank, high levels of light or noise etc. (This is why its good to leave the tank lights off on tanks with new or sick fish.)

ok well that is probably what did her in... within the last three days she developed the bloating i guess. I did the following:

1. raised temp of water to 82 degrees to try and induce birth for preggo guppy.
2. leave lights on all day long
3. vacum, loud stereo downstairs constant base shaking floors. stressers

So i will do a W/C and test the water, that should keep the bad guys at bay i hope. Sorry to see her go but at the same time it gives me future room for more fish or something.
