I used to use my 20g long as a fry tank for my cichlids.

I am thinking of setting it up as a community tank with neons or cardinals and guppies.  The extra guppies I would start to accumulate could always be live food for the cichlids.

I have a 15 (close enough) with lots of mbuna juvies and plants.   instead of throwing out plants I prune from the 33 I throw them in the 15. they just float around.

it's my little swamp.  I have no idea what the PH is .  the fish eat like pigs and look great (for juvies).

Disclaimer: Do not attempt to populate your 20 gallon like this at home (happy Josh?<G>).

I have a twenty gallon high. The current population is:

6 Emerald Green Cories (3 1", 3 1/2")
5 Bloodfin tetras (~1" each)
4 Gold Inca Snails
3 Black Skirt (black widow) Tetras (~1" each)
2 Long Fin Blue Danio (~1/2" to 1")
2 White Clouds (~1/2" each)
2 Clown Plecos (1" each)
1 Long Fin White Skirt Tetra (1")
1 Rainbow Shark (2")
1 Blue Gourami (1")
1 -Horabagrus brachysoma- Golden Retail Cat or Sun Cat (2")
1 Green Tiger Barb (1/2")
1 Sunset thicklip Gourami (2")
Several ramshorns and mud snails

Filtration: Marineland Penguine Biowheel 330
Plants: All Plastic
Decor: Rocks and driftwood
Maintanance: 6 gallon water change 2x a week

Is the tank a bit cramped, yeah. Yet with all the decor in it, you're lucky if you see six of the fish at any one time. And some of it is new additions from the power outage last night. The filter on my Eclipse Six never restarted when the power came back on, so the white clouds, GTB, 3 cories, 2 inca snails, and a clown pleco found themselves quickly relocated. Hopefully I can fiddle around with the filter on the six and get it to work. It's humming, just not sucking up water.

Oooo you have sterbai! My sterbies died *sniffle* I don't know what I did wrong. I treated them and fed them along with three of my emerald greens, and they just, one day, up and were dead. And I haven't been able to find anymore sterbai at all anymore! I miss them, they so purty.

In our 18 gallon high, we have:

5 neon tetras
2 otos
2 panda corys
3 "rare" guppies (all males, so no fry ... and no, they haven't   driven each other crazy yet)
1 female beta
1 very boring reclusive pleco

several plants, a few rocks, and a piece of driftwood that is apparently all our pleco needs from life

We've had this combo for several months now, and it seems to be a very healthy, happy and stable tank.  The only thing is that we have a few more snails now then we used to (but not too many) ... I'm tempted to get a clown loach to take care of this, but since everyone seems so happy now I'm reluctant to do anything that might disturb it.  Any thoughts on that?

Thanks in advance for your input,

Sean

I thought my tank was reaching capacity. I guess I will make a trip to the LFS soon. :)

I have a 20H with:
6 harlaquin rasboras
1 male pineapple swordtail
2 female pineapple swordtail
2 bronze cory, they are really small
1 black neon tetras, all his friends died over the course of a month
2 2 weeks old swordtail, I see them once a week if I am lucky since my tank has a lot of plants in it

My tank is very densely planted and there is a piece of driftwood for decor.
