Hi All!

I got home this eveing to find my new betta with a good (and when I say good I mean very very bad!) lump out of his tail!!!

He is in the tank on his own so he could not have been bitten!

Might he have cought it on the peice of bog wood?

Is it anything to worry about?

Thanks.

I dont think there is anything to worry about, it must have just gotten ripped or torn, but i think it will grow back, i would keep the water quality up just to speed up the regrowth on its tail, but there shouldnt be anything to worry about uinless it shows signs of disease

Flame tends to love going through thickets of watersprite and he tears his tail frequently if I don't stay on top of thinning the stuff every week. I just put in a little bettafix, maybe move up the waterchange a little, no problem.
How is he, healing up noticeably by now?

It's diluted melifix, about half the strength, so next time if you dose with Melifix only dose half of what your suposed to. Full strength can be hard on their laberynth organ.
