Hey Gang

I think Im going to try my hand at breeding bettas again.  I tried and failed several times.  I had one successful spawn, but left daddy in the tank about an hour to long and he ate them all  >:(

I dont have any "fancy" bettas at the moment, just some veil tails from my lfs, my favorite male made a nice bubble nest last night when I put a female in a jar next to him.  So....I think I will start conditioning them now.

Wish me luck...and I appreciate any advice anyone would like to give me :)

I tried to but the female wasn't conditioned properly and didn't have any eggs. :( The male had a beautiful bubble nest built and the tank was perfect but the female wasn't willing. I only had brine shrimp and bloodworms to feed them though. I wanted some mosquito larvae but no one around me had any, they say that's the best thing to feed them to conditon them. :D ;D Good luck. ;)

In my betta food theres blood meal, do you think its parts of blood worm. Shipping fish is kinda expensive. Ill ask but i dont have time to breed bettas right now.

Ok, you're probably going to get grossed out but you asked... ;D

Blood meal is dried and powdered blood from slaughter houses. :p It is also used as a plant fertilizer. I know what it is because my mom is an organic gardening freak. Compost for everyone! ;D
