for now, anyway.

my 3 gallon nano has become a perpetual tank of death, having killed 1 citron goby, 1 pink skunk clown, and 2 yellow clown gobies thus far (as well as 2 cleaner shrimps and countless snails and various hermits). i decided i'd better call it quits before there are no gobies left in the sea.

i'm going to set the tank up as either a cray, puffer, or betta tank. and if i ever go salty again, it'll probably be with either a basic 10 gallon tank, or the 8 gallon biocube they sell at the lfs (comes stocked with a wet/dry filter, 2x18w lights, etc). but for now i think i'm meant to stick to freshwater. *twirlysmi

i'll still be frequenting the nano threads though, all the while thinking jealous thoughts! (j/k j/k)

i don't really know what went wrong... i had some trouble getting my pH up (even with buffers), but when i tested my water nitrate/nitrite/ammonia always looked ok to me.

24 gallons would be nice. hopefully i'll be back over here before too long! ;)

its alot harder to keep smaller tanks especially a 3g since the water is way more concentrated ;) youll have much better luck with a 10g or better yet a 20 :D hope to see ya back soon

hehehe, i know the feeling shift. :) i wish i wanted a 24g aquapod! i don't even have room for anything else right now.

a 10 gallon sounds like a good idea katie, that's probably what i'll do, eventually. or the 8... or... i don't know! :p

yeah go with a 10g it'll be easier on your wallet XD

i got mine started without a problem. the trick is to set everything up like temperature and SG stable. then add live sand and live rock.

from experience and tips from a good LFS is to wait....i mean really wait.
i waited like 3 months (mainly cuz a lot of things delayed me) and everything went smoothly. just have to add a filter to get rid of the fuzy stuff.

i wonder how people get their 1000g tanks started *laughingc
