Im moving in less than a month. I'm only moving about ten minutes away, but I need to know how to move my 29 gal. salt water. It has some live and some dead rocks that are good size; 1 damsel; 2 clowns; 2 hermit crabs; 1 peppermint shrimp; 2 snails; 3 anemones; and a grasshopper looking thing. Do I need to empty the tank first? Do I need to bag up the fish?

step by step:

empty tank but save water
put fish/LR in the water at the old house
take tank and 1/2 to 3/4 of the water to the new house with equipment
set up tank using that water
bring rocks, etc to the new place and put in tank
bring fish and other animals to new place with the rest of the water
add the fish, etc into the tank and finish filling the tank

if you plan this right it is doable in an hour or two and should pose no problems

i moved 3 tanks ~800 miles and did not lose anything so you should be able to do it without any major problems...just have a plan :)

addendum: basically, the tank should be the last thing to go and the first thing to be set up so pick its spot before you move
