I know this isn't the general fish forum topic, but I might decide to make my paper topic on fish abuse. I have a few sites, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend websites, or instances of fish abuse I could research. Thank you.

It's about time someone talks about fish abuse, though. I always tell customers at work "Fish are not starter pets" "No you can't put three goldfish in a bowl!"

It gets tiring..

Well, you could also talk about impulse buying too. Like, people who walk into a pet store with absolutely no knowladge at all, there are so many fish you could write about on that. Bettas are put into bowls too because they are so hardy, so they die because people don't do research... That's all I can think of...

Yes. I've already included that.

ATTENTION ALL: The next time you make a trip to the pet store, could you please include an account of the abuse you saw there, as well as some pictures. If you could post the pictures and your account on this thread, that would be great. I just went to Walmart and took some pictures as well as documented what I saw. It would really help. Also, I am making a website with my report and all the photos on it. For the photos, please include what state and/or city you live in and also the date you went to the store. I don't need to know your real name. Usernames are fine. Thank you all!

The thai plakat suggestion was really helpful. I found many good sites with that information.

Definitely. Also some strange forms of goldfish abuse, such as goldfish racing. If I manage to organize this paper well, I hope it affects A LOT of people. I'll be sure to post it, but it will not be done until March.
I've never done the golfish racing but I often times work the minnow races and the kids trout pond at an outdoor show I work at every febuary. the minnow races aint that stressfull. send the innows down a gutter and when it gets there u net it and toss it in a cooler. after the show is done they take em back to the baitshop to be sold for fishing. and the trout still left in the pond get eaten by me and many other people. aint to bad, could be much much worse.
