%@#&*-ing Fungus!!!

#1
My bronze cory in my big tank has a little white blob on one of his fins...I'm pretty sure its fungus. All I have to treat is the Jungle Fungus Clear tabs. Should I take the cory out and treat him in the hospital tank, or should I just treat the whole tank since they have all been "exposed"?

Anyone know if Fungus-clear is safe for snails? (the box didn't say)

You could remove the snail for a while - but there's the risk of it harbouring the fungus and re-introducing it back into the tank later.

I have no idea if those tabs are harmfull to snails, but under the circumstances, I'd take the risk and treat the whole tank with the snail in, rather than risk loosing a cory.

Ya, the reinfectin risk is making me just want to chance it too. I just went to Jungle's website and asked them if the tabs were safe for snails and scaless fish...so we'll see what they say.

If it was one, I wouldn't be as concered...but if it does kill them, i'd be killing 6 beautiful brigs...that I actually paid a bit of money for.

Very interesting Lotus...Here's Jungle's reply, and they actually don't recommend treating a tank with snails in...probably cause they never did any tests with snails.
Hello Ema,

Thank you for your inquiry about Jungle(r) products. We are happy that you have chosen our products to use in your aquarium to help you maintain the best possible environment for your fish and plants.

While Jungle(r) Fungus Clear is safe for all fish, including the
scaleless kinds, we don't recommend it for use with snails in the tank. If these are little mystery snails (the kind that you seemingly can't kill - no matter what) I wouldn't be concerned, but if you have the larger ones that you value, you should keep them in a separate container until you are done treating your fish. Once your fish are all better, you have made a final 25% water change and returned the carbon to the filter, give the carbon a good 48 hours to remove the remainder of the medication before returning your snails.
So I pulled them out and treated the tank. The spot is all but gone on the cory, so I will be de-medicating tonight, I will prob put the snails back before all the med is gone...not going to wait the 48 hours as suggested by Jungle. And most likley next time I will just treat the whole tank, snails and all.
