Rescued an anemone from being dumped down a toilet by the previous owners angry girlfriend.
I have a newer tank (yes i know not good for an anemone.. but neither was the toilet)

Anyways... I stuck him in my tank after using the drip method acclimation...
He planted himself on my volcano about an inch and a half from the mouth and seemed pretty content.

My scarlet skunk shrimp apparently decided that he wanted to meet his new neighbor... and he took up residence right on the base of the anemone.
I went to bed and turned the tank light off at 11pm and turned them back on at 7am
My anemone look half the size it was before.

A few hours later he had pulled all of his tentacles inside himself.

Later in the day he popped himself back out but did not look as full as before.
I went to Petco and asked their advice, they recommended putting some brine shrimp in the tank near him and see if hes hungry.
I did this... within seconds after getting a few in his mouth he turned inside out (i mean that I could no longer see any of his orange foot but could see right into what I believe is his mouth) 100_2113.jpg
I couldnt figure out what was going on but kept reading in forums that his could mean he is dying, i don't want to lose my whole tank when he goes so i very gently removed him (with a gloved hand i gently massaged the base of his foot with my thumb until he let go, then scooped him inside a bag and placed him in his own bowl of the same aquarium water) Now hes puffed himself right back up, but Im afraid he is not all better... what is going on??? 100_2114.jpg

He will not be better in the cup!!!! He appears to be health by the pics. They will do this after they eat or even after being put into a new home. Let him be for a few days (in the tank) if he survived the cup. Mine would stay closed for several hours to a couple days sometimes.
