Introducing seashells

Hi. I'm cycling a nano with live rock and I'd like to throw some shells in, for both aesthetics and possible future hermit crabs. Is there anything I need to do other than boil the shells? The shells are natural, bought at a craft store.

Other then boiling I dont think so...they should be fine.

i went down to mexico for spring break and collected some empty hermit crab shells for my larger hermits--all i did was scrubbed the shells, boiled, scrubbed, boiled, and soaked in saltwater for a bit...if they passed the smell test (to prevent the introduction of organics), then i added them to my tank
