I always go by the rule that I don't add anything that I don't test for. Iodine test kits are hard as there are three different iodines that are in your tank and I don't think there is a test that tests for all available iodines. If you are vigilant in your water changes your salt mix will have enough for your shrimp.

I guess my tank if fine. I came home today and the shrimper already molted. I seen an extra set of antennas and I first I thought he died. Then I seen some other ones moving. I was confused until I seen it was a ghost shell. Should they be removed right away?

you can leave them in. My cleaners love to nibble on it but it cant get annoying if it gets stuck in a pump.

Its funny your reaction towards the first molt was the exact same as mine, and probably 95% of others as well, just thought it was funny. But yes you can leave the molted shell in if you wish.
