Hi...I'm new to this message board and I have a serious issue.
I have 3 Iridescent Sharks that range from 7"-10" in length in a 50 gal. Bow tank. I've had them for over 8 years and I am concerned about their health. I wish I could buy them a larger tank but that's not an option. I've decided to try and give them up for adoption for a more suitable environment, but I haven't had any luck. I've contacted local aquariums and pet stores, but I haven't found anyone willing to adopt them. Can anyone provide me with any suggestions????

burton, largeer IDs will not usually be taken by stores as they have no room for them and usually people only buy the smaller juvis.

Madriz, your just going to have to keep looking IDs can be pretty hard to get rid of as most people in the trade know how demanding they are to keep. You might find a local aquarium club and see if anybody there wants them.

best of luck.

I'm very happy to buy or adopt your babies.

Let's hope so, as it was 6 yrs ago!

It bugs me that LFS even sell these tank-busters without some serious discussion with potential buyers about. When I see them for sale, I often ask the clerks about their care just to see what they say. Often I get 'They only get as big as your tank is'....oi...!!

Saw a couple buy a dozen tin-foil barbs for their 10gallon tank. Several other fish shoppers tried to educate them but they had their minds made up, and the clerk was more than happy to bag 'em up. So sad...
