Is a Firemouth REALLY aggressive?

I realize that you could not put a Firemouth in with anything peaceful. But are they really that aggressive? I have never seen mine do anything. He actually kind of hides in the back away from all the rest.

My firemouth used to be very timid when it was small, its abut 2.5 inches now, he used to get in alot of fights with the dempsey when the dempsey was small. Now that the dempsey is bigger, i geuss they came to an understaning and dont fight at all, but the firemouth still flares up and attacks my electric blue. He really is the *** of my tank, but a very cool fish to look at though!

No they are classified as Simi-Agressive.

They have a live, let live attitude towards life. They can be mean if provoked

He may feel "weak" in your tank or intimidated by your other fish.
