is there something more quiet than the deep water air pumps?

#1
I bought a deep water air pump from tetra tec at big al's, the smallest model and found out the darn thing is noisy as hell during the night (the tank is in my room). I was wondering if the smallest model of the rena is much more quiet than this? that's the only other one they sold at the store that seems like a good quality. I'm thinking of exchanging it today or should i just keep the one i have? anyone have experience on running both of these pumps? especially in their bedrooms. thanks.

The Rena 50 is virtually silent - I have two of them.

I also have a Rena 100 (sounds like a WoodPecker) - and a Rena 200 (sounds like a construction crew)

Several other odds and sods - but the Rena 50 is the only really quiet one.

Bear in mind that the 50 will only push a one inch airstone, so if you want more uummph then I can only suggest you run a pair of them linked together. Not as crazy as it sounds, and you get the result without the noise.

Ok i went and exchanged the tetra deep water for the rena 50, BIG difference in sound, i hid it behind some bags now i can barely hear it. It's more quiet but the lowest end deep water had ALOT more Ooomph in air pumping than the lowest end rena 50, like twice as much air. But at also twice the noise level! so i found it to be a good buy for the aquarium setups in your bedroom, and don't go for any higher powered pumps cause you'll hear it when you are having nightmares of bubble machines!
