well the other day i bought 5 guppys. two males three females. the males both had bright pretty colorful tails. but today i noticed one of them had lost the color in its tail completly its just see through. but the other male had all the color in its tail. what could be wrong with it sick? bad water? stress?:confused::confused:

are you sure it a male an not a fancy female?
If youre 100% sure (im not doubting your knowledge) Then yea thats damn abnormal. i dont suggest keeping that one in your tank.
Normally loss of color in the tail is due to improper nutrition, lack of vitamins, proteins, etc... but that doesnt happen overnight!
Sounds serious to me. idk get some more opinions on this.

ya i get ya im pretty sure its a male cause i bought them two days ago and now it doesnt really swim around it kinda just twitch at the top of the water what should i do with it?

Twitching as in having periodic spasms? likely triggered by some sort of shock, or health defect. Return it asap. quarantine until then. if you cant return, well idk then its up to your judgment....

Return man. if you cant, or you just love that fish a lot, then try looking further into its problem and find a likely cause. then eliminate it (the cause lol) or start treating with meds if you discover that its a bacterial infection of some sort. Cant really help w/o pics.

i would put some pics but my camera is left at my cousins. im just going to return i havent had it long enough to get attached.lol least all my other fish are healthy. and i have fry on the way.lol

in a tank at the LFS there are alot of fish so they tend to leave each other alone for the most part it could be stress being in a new tank and they are all fighting over a pecking order and territory and he's at the bottem of the ladder
