Is this tank any good?

#1
Hey Everyone,

I am just getting back to the Aquarium scene. Technology has changed, so I am unsure if this tank is good or not.

My wife and I are thinking of getting a 50 Gallon UniQuarium by Advance Aqua Tanks. Its an Acrylic tank, and has a built in Wet/Dry filter on it.

Are these any good? I can't find any reviews on them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like a great tank. Wet/dry filters are supposed to be the best.

There is a simple explanation of filters and how they work here: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?dept_id=0&siteid=6&acatid=285&aid=304 if you need to understand the basic principles.

Some people don't like acrylic tanks as they scratch easily, but others love them. It's really a matter of personal choice on glass over acrylic. :)

Wet/Dry filters are very popular for reef aquariums as they provide room for protein skimmers and other equipment. They also expose bio media to create higher oxygen levels. Wet/Drys also work well in freshwater aquariums.
