whoa! hes is VERY gorgeous greendragon! i never heard of a cichlid like that before, but he sure is very colorful and mosaicy. does he (or she) have any tank mates?
whoa! ive never seen such a colorful cichlid before. never even heard of one! almost wants me to get one myself! lol. he must be quite large to go in with those fish! is he like SUPER aggressive like some cichlids? actually, maybe i should find out where he comes from first lol! after all, africans are much more aggressive than SA cichlids!
I know they come from central america, and i think some have given it the name Nandopsis islantum,i can't be sure on that.
Nice and calm so far after 2 weeks, but we'll see.
About 8 inches right now,i have no idea how big they get,but i'm hoping they are similar to dempseys.
well,i'm not gonna argue with u,i have people from cichlid-forum,that will if really necessary back me up on this,so if you wanna debate it you can go to thier chat on the weekend and we can do it there
i just read my last post and realised i could have sounded harsh, which is the reason i don't post a lot cause i don't want to get people mad at me.
i've seen other threads and know you know your stuff, soulfish and cichlid-man
i'm not trying to make an argument,i just believe i'm right about this. http://www.cichlidae.com/gallery/Heroines/istlanum-01.jpg
yes,cichlid-man your right,i'm not afraid to admit i'm wrong
i did more digging and found someone with one of Dr. Axelrods older books and he says he found a pic that is exactly like mine and sure enouph it is Cichlosoma octofaciatus, even with the red underneath the other colors
so your telling me if those 2 fish in the pic of mine breed the fry would not be hybrids??
