what do i need todo to get my fish to start eating?? it`s a female jack and she`s the biggest fish in the tank. and it ate the tail off my betta or my cichlids did one or the other the betta is still alive amazingly. but it`s been over a week and i haven`t seen her nip at anything what`s goin on here??

what you want to do is this:
1. pick up the bottle of ph decreaser.
2. walk to the nearest trash receptacle.
3. throw the bottle in.
messing with your ph is FAR more stressful to your fish than just leaving it alone....stability is the key. a jack dempsey can thrive in a toilet bro...dont mess with the ph.
what size tank you have her in?
jacks grow large (albeit slow) and will not mix well with fish like tetras, bettas, and even the cories after a year or so.....

it comes out of my tap around 7.9 i did another water change on it today it was looking a little cloudy lastnight. and i just treated the tap water before i put it in the tank and it`s a good 6.9-7.1 ph right now. and i added some water stabilizer, to keep my ph from bounceing around, for future water changes. my jack seems to look really healthy she`s got her spots and colors just flashing around. i`m gonna try and remove the corys and the tetras see what happens with her.
