I have a jack dempsey with a green terror together .I would say the jack is about 2 and half inchs and a green terror is about 3 and a half. Well i came from school today and part of his tail fin was missing. I thought maybe the green terror could have try to get him or maybe tail rot because it look like a piece of it was floating at the top of the tank.

no no no, there's no sweet revenge, there's no "waiting it out", please don't take that kind of risk or that kind of advice 
Remove the green terror, take it back to the store or if you have an extra (and cycled) tank ready then put it in there.
And from what Kyle said about the green terror growing faster than the Jack Dempsey, that alone would cause a problem.
The Jack Dempsey will get rot/fungus so please do the fish a favour and treat it ASAP

I agree with Blueturq here.
There is no waiting around. Did it once it will prob. do it again. And thats a big IF the JD grows up.....might not make it past another week if this continues. Having part of the tail missing could cause other parasites and funguses to get to it. If its to big of a piece it may never grow back....hampering the JD the rest of its life.

First of all I would say seperate the fish for sure.
Second of all I'm not sure, but I think a Green Terror could take a Jack Dempsey, especially when the Green Terror is an inch bigger than the Jack Dempsey.
Third of all there will probably be no revenge, cause if I'm not mistaking a GT will grow alot faster than a JD like I said earlier, so the bullying will probably only get worse as the GT gets bigger, especially if they are in a smaller tank.
Am I correct here?

Yeah, im goina have to agree with wut u guys sed about green terrors kicking the jd's butt. Sorry to anyone that thinks else wise but i got 2 green terrors about 4.5 " and they're savages. Plus when i was goina buy a pirahna some dude sed it'll kick their butt.
Yeah i advise to get some medicine and a divider.
