I have 2 Jacks in my 90 Gallon and I think they might be getting ready to breed. The male is about 6" and the female is about 5". Often when the female is around the male seems to shake abruptly, or flare his gills, open his mouth and shake his body. The male also seems to be moving some gravel in a flower pot in my tank. They are not anymore agressive than usual, they have been showing this behavior for about a week. What do you think? Thanks fo the help!

i had a pair that did the exact same thing you are describing, but unfortunately mine would never breed for me..:(

they would perform this "courting" behavior about once a month, and would did out a corner of the tank...but never took it any further.

maybe i didnt have a compatible pair, or something though.

i hope you have good luck with them! :)
