I can't keep a betta alive for more then 2 weeks.

Things that will usually kill a betta: low temperatures, poor water quality, overfeeding.

i doubt over feeding is an issue. I feed 4 pellets a day.
Water quality is a maybe. I usaully change 25% every other week
And this thing desperately needs a frickin heater. I *had* a heater but my bro took it for *his* 10gal which has a fantail goldfish and 5 white clouds.

It's most likely the heater, to be honest. Bettas generally do very poorly when temps drop at night.

Just got it yesterday and it raised my 2 gallon from 70 degrees to 78 degrees and my angry little Betta is back to being angry and not lethargic.

You should take the heater back from your Bro . . . Goldfish and White Clouds can handle the swing in temperature much better than your Betta. Especially since Goldies and WC's like colder water anyway.

yeah i don't get why you need the heater for the goldfish... I mean to keep the temp consistant I guess, but room temp is usually good

Does you betta have a place to hide? Mine always like to have a little "room" in their home.
