Just 1 GloFish?

So I recently was given a Red GloFish Danio and it came in a 1 gallon tank(with filter & rocks)
I've owned fish before but not this kind and the poor thing seems like it's having a panic attack.. I'm wondering if it's lonely or if the tank isn't big enough?
Also, the tank has a light-should I keep it on at all times?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
(Also, sorry if I've posted in the wrong section of the forum)

Those are schooling fish and it probably feels vonerable being alone and a 1 gallon tank is pretty small for them. and it is a good idea to turn the light off at night. all fish tend to rest once the lights are turned off unless they are nocturnal of course which glo fish are not

I am really concerned that type of fish will not survive in that small of container and, as noted before, they really do better in a group - but certainly with much more room.
