Now that my tank has been running stable for over a year I just test ca once a month.....to make sure that my topoff water is keeping my level where I want it. I have an auto topoff that adds Seachem reef complete mixed into the water at 2 tsp/g. My topoff is running about 3/4 g per day.
I also test alk/dkh every couple of days and add a couple to teaspoons of Kent Coral Builder mixed into 2 c of ro water every 2-3 days or when the the alk gets down to 3. I like to keep it about 4.
I usually test magnesium about once every 6 weeks.....just to make sure my w/c are keeping the level about 3 times my ca level.
If I see a problem with algae or cyano I will test for nitrates and phosphates...but so far haven't had any real issues and hoping the cheato and gracillara in the fuge are keeping those levels down.
